Abstract

The present invention relates to an arrangement and a method for defining and controlling the distribution of messages in a message environment in a communication network of an end user. According to the invention, a user interface is provided on a user terminal so that the user can generate new or modify existing rules stored in a rules database. The rules may include lists of valid recipients who are allowed to receive and / or forward messages associated with the rules. Messages sent from the end user can then be assigned these new / modified rules by including the rule name in the address of the messages when publishing. The messaging infrastructure will then bind the respective rules to the messages so that any further transmission will result in the associated rules being imposed.
