Abstract

The insulating element is intended for use in external wall claddings of underground storeys or basements and comprises a plate formed from non-biodegradable and foamed plastic. Besides having a heat-insulating effect, the plate also assumes a draining function. In order to provide for this, the plate body 1, on the side facing the wall, has drainage recesses in the form of vertical grooves 2. The openings 3 of the drainage recesses and grooves 2 respectively are shielded in a liquid-permeable manner with a filter strip 6 made of non- woven fabric.
