Description

The present invention relates to a socket connection for connecting electrical devices of the type specified in the introduction to claim 1.

Such contact boxes must be available in two versions, to enable a hidden installation and an external installation.

In addition to sockets for connecting telephone devices

the need for additional contact boxes, each time in the form of a hidden design and a surface-mounted design, with adapted connection of additional devices in remote communication technology, such as dialers, speakerphones, answering machines, telephoto devices or modems.

Furthermore, it must be taken into account that many telephone subscribers will use several devices and/or several different devices, for which the associated contact box must be installed each time. In addition, it happens that in the course of time a change is desired in the connection needs of the subscriber. Thus, it may happen that a telephone subscriber who until now only had a contact box for a single telephone set, in the future wants to have two telephone sets in the same place and, in addition to the telephone set, intends to connect a number generator or a telephone set. It was then necessary to replace the contact boxes or to expand with additional contact boxes and to clamp the telecommunications cables accordingly to the various old and new contact boxes. This meant considerable assembly work. In addition to enormous time savings, there was a slight wiring error

or disturbances in the connections. In addition, it was necessary to have extensive stock for the manufacturer and the retailer of the various contact boxes in order to be able to take care of the various connection requests. Due to the different functions of the different appliances and devices must

the individual plug connections are designed differently to prevent confusion. For this reason, it was until now impossible to give the junction boxes or contact boxes a uniform structure.

The task underlying the invention is to develop

a reliable contact box of the type mentioned at the outset,

which simplifies the number of different application possibilities and makes new connections as well as connection changes on appliances more economically beneficial.

This is achieved according to the present invention by a socket connection of the type mentioned at the outset, the characteristic features of which appear in claim 1. Further features of the invention appear in the sub-claims.

Even if a junction box of uniform construction type is used, is

with the invention it is possible to adapt it individually to each application purpose without the need for extensive assembly work. This advantage appeared not only in the initial assembly of a junction box, where the invention already entails a simplification, in that the same socket part is used for all purposes, but also after the connection of a junction box, because this can be adapted to each new use case. In the invention, as already mentioned, a uniform base is provided, which is used for all possible connection purposes. It has fixed connection terminals for the telecommunication cables and a uniform set of connection contacts in one recording. It is particularly advantageous to design the plinth cup-shaped, whereby this forms the outer part of the junction box over which only a cover must be applied in the case of surface mounting or a cover in the case of concealed mounting. The coupling contacts are for space-saving design and easy handling arranged in the circumference of the cup and the inside of the cup serves as a receiving space for an adapter, which enables adaptation to the purpose of application of this unitary base. In its lower part, which grips the box, the adapter has mating contacts that can be interlocked with the connection contacts. In this respect, all applicable adapters can also be designed equally. However, the adapter has a connection profile specially adapted to each connection purpose, in which the connection contacts for plug connections in the various telephone devices and additional devices are located, which are designed differently for each adapter type. Such a connection profile for the adapter consists in the simplest possible way of a recording opening in the form of a recording chamber for a plug connection for a specific device and additional device, which is arranged depending on the type, single or multiple in the adapter and has connection contacts in accordance with this in different positions. One can thereby proceed from a uniform chamber base profile for all adapters, give this e.g. a square profile, but make it confusion-proof in terms of profile by individually arranged ribs or channels in accordance with the different plug connections for the different appliances. Likewise, the positions for the potential connection contacts in these recording chambers will be arranged according to a basic pattern applicable to all adapters, but, depending on the purpose of application, the connection contacts will be placed within this distribution basic pattern in different locations.

With the invention, you get a junction box or contact box that can be easily adapted individually to a new function. It serves as a central point of contact, as with the use of a specific adapter of a number of readily available adapted elements that can be instantly connected to all possible telecommunications devices and auxiliary devices. The until now necessary manual cable installations and storage of connection boxes of different types are redundant. Because of the uniform base according to the invention, the fitter also does not need to take into account a special connection method for the telecommunication cables, and he does not even need to know what purpose the special contact box is to be used for. It is sufficient if the subscriber, together with the device and/or additional device he wants, receives an adapter adapted to the individual plug connection combination. If the subscriber's connection wishes should change, he only needs to receive the adapter designed for the new plug connection combination with the new devices. It is not necessary to change anything to the connections in the base which belong to the basic equipment in the contact box according to the invention.

If, in many cases of application, another arrangement or distribution of the connected telecommunication lines is required, this is not something that must be carried out on the base when the adapter is provided with conductor paths, which form the necessary connections between the connection contacts, which determine the connection profile, and those with the uniform socket-cooperating, circumferential mating contacts in the adapter. Thereby, special connection features are integrated into the adapter. These conductor paths can be arranged on a conductor plate arranged in the adapter.

In the building box system according to the invention of a uniform base part and a number of adapters of different types, which are adapted to the most different connection purposes and connection combinations, all adapters preferably have a mutually consistent outline, at least at their lower part that can be inserted into the cup-shaped base. The aforementioned cup-shaped inner profile has a shape consistent with this outline. In the simplest case, a square profile is used for this purpose, where the square longitudinal sides serve for the arrangement of fixed connection clamps, with which the movable joints, e.g. connection screws are irremovably arranged in recesses in the beaker side wall. On the inside of the cup of these connection terminals are the connection contacts mentioned several times, which must cooperate with the counter contacts of the adapter in the case of connection. In the other edge areas of the cup-shaped base part, you see through-holes for fasteners, such as e.g. fastening screws that can be used for an external mounting of the plinth. However, the same base can also be used in concealed mounting, as the above-mentioned bushings can be used at the same time for connecting construction parts for concealed mounting, such as e.g. spreader claws and/or support flanges. With these construction parts, the same plinth can be placed in a corresponding recess in the wall, e.g. in installation boxes. In the area of these through-holes, the side wall of the cup part will be designed more massively, so that in the case of the aforementioned square-shaped cup profile inside, due to these expansions, an approximately double cone appears

shaped profile, if one arranges such through holes with wall reinforcement on two diametrically opposite sides.

In accordance with the shape of the recording chamber in the adapter, the plug connection on the cord of the device or the device to be connected is equipped with a core part, in which the socket cooperating with the adapter is inserted as a strip on the core circumference. If many of the arranged recording chambers of a used adapter are not to be used, then an end piece is used which covers the openings of these empty recording chambers. For this purpose, snap connections can be used. The barrier lines can also be used to secure the connection between the adapter and socket, especially between the adapter and the plug connection on the device side. Thereby, optimal cooperation is ensured and an accidental division of the elements is excluded.

The adapter according to the invention makes it possible for adjacent connection points for plug connections to be placed so close to each other that usually the handling of the plug connections during connection or release is difficult. For these reasons, it is proposed in the invention to design the plug connections at different heights, so that in the inserted state they partially overlap each other with their handling part. With this overlapping, at the same time, the thereby abused plug connection is subordinated for its disconnection process.

The contact box as in fig. 1 to 3 are shown in an external assembly 10 and in fig. 4 to 6 in a hidden assembly 10' has a basically uniform base 11, the appearance of which is shown in fig. 7 and 8.

The base 11 is cup-shaped and consists of a closed cup base 12 and side walls 13, 14 and 15, which, apart from details, determine a square-shaped design of the base 11. The cup base 12 and the side walls 13, 14 and 15 define a receiving space 17 in the interior of the cup. The two mutually opposite wide wall parts 15 are equipped with through holes 16, so that the wide wall parts 15 in this area are equipped with wall extensions 18 projecting into the reception space 17. Through holes 16 serve in the case of external mounting according to fig.

1 to 3 for carrying out fixing screws. If a hidden assembly according to fig. 4 to 6 is desired, the through-holes 16 can be used for optionally connecting holding parts, as in fig. 7 is designed as supporting flanges 19 drawn in dotted lines

and in fig. 6 is shown as claw 20. In fig. 7, the fixing screws 21 for these holding parts 19, 20 are also shown dotted.

The two longitudinally extending side walls 13, 14 of the cup-shaped base 11 serve different purposes. The one longitudinal wall part 14 is equipped with a wall thickening 22, which predominantly projects outwards from the square-outlined base 11 and can be used for the arrangement of a threaded bushing 23. This threaded bushing 23 accommodates a threaded screw 24, which also in the external mounting according to fig . 1 to 3, which is also the case with the hidden assembly according to fig. 4 to 6 are applicable. In the case of surface mounting, where the base 11

lies with its base surface 24 against a wall, and is attached to the wall by means of fixing screws in the through-holes 16, a covering cap 26 is placed over it and by means of threaded screws 24, threaded bushing 23 is connected to the base 11 as best seen in fig. 1. In the case of hidden mounting, this will be ring-shaped

cover plate 27 held by means of the form-locked connection of a central plate 28, which in turn is connected by means of said threaded screw 24 to threaded bushing 23 to the base 11, as can best be seen from fig. 4.

The second longitudinal wall 13 is equipped with a number of connection clamps 30 for telecommunications cables, not shown.

For separation, the connection terminals are designated by the letters a, b, W, E, G, b2, b3 in fig. 7. Their design can best be seen from the sectional drawing in fig. 8. The longitudinal wall 13 is there equipped with recesses 29, which in fig. The profiling shown in 8 keeps the connection screws irremovably fixed and on the threads of which clamp nuts 32 can be screwed on. It should be understood that the connection clamps 30 can also be designed in a different manner known per se. The connection terminals 30 are equipped with connection contacts 33, which consist of strips which are inserted into grooves 34 on the longitudinal wall 13 open towards the recording space 17.

The telecommunication cables arranged on the connection terminals 30 are thus electrically connected to the surface parts of the connection contacts 13 that are detached from the recording space 17. In all cases of use for the contact box according to the invention, the telecommunication cables are connected according to a uniform scheme to the various connection terminals 30 which can be separated using the aforementioned letters . Nevertheless, the contact box 10, 10' according to the invention is exactly adapted to each individual application, which is achieved by means of an adapter of different type 40, 40', of which the drawings in fig.

9 and 12 show two design examples.

Due to the aforementioned wall extensions 18, the receiving space 17 of the unitary base 11 has an outline contour, which is similar to

a double cone. Those in fig. Adapters 40, 40' shown in 9 and 12 are designed to be inserted into the unitary receiving space 17, so that they also have an outline 41 in the form of a double cone profile. It should be understood that the recording room 17 on the one hand and the box converter 40, 40' on the other hand can also have other mutually complementary contours. In this respect, all available adapters of different types 40, 40' are mutually similar.

In case of use, an adapter 40, as can be seen from fig. 8 and 10 connected in the direction of the indicated movement arrow 35 to the base 11, whereby the counter contacts 43 of the adapter 40 come into contact with the connection contacts 33 in the interior of the recording space 17, whereby the compliant springing back edge recesses 44 of the adapter 40 and ensure good contact Print.

Otherwise, the adapter 40, 40' is designed differently in terms of type, even though uniform principles have also been used thereby. Each of these connection points 46 to 46" forms a separate recording chamber with a box-shaped base profile, (why also these chambers and the connection points as well as the connection openings have the same reference number in the following), on whose outline surface 47 the necessary connection contacts 48 for each plug 36 are arranged in defined places As a comparison of the different recording chambers 46 to 46" shows, the connection contacts 48 are always arranged according to a uniform basic pattern, which applies uniformly to all connection profiles 45, 45', however, the chambers 46 to 46" differ individually in that in some places in this basic pattern, connection contacts are missing,

This core part 39 is equipped on its circumference with plug contacts 50, which are inserted as strips in the core circumference, which is also evident from the sectional view in fig. 15. These plug contacts 50 extend in the direction of the arrow 51 in fig. 10 and 11 indicated coupling movement between the plug 36 and the receiving chamber 36. In the coupling case, those which remove tongue-shaped connection contacts 48, which are accommodated yieldingly in the inner recesses 52 in the chambers 46, remove against the connection contacts 50 of the plug 36. As further appears from fig. 15, the plug contacts 50 in the inner space of the handle 53 arranged in the upper area of the plug 36 are equipped with stripped clamps 54, in the cut of which the respective conductor 55 in the wire is clamped and thereby contact is made without removing the insulation.

The other conductors 56 in the line are thereby carried on and are summarized in it already in fig. 11 described cord line 37. The insertion depth for the plug 36 is determined by a landing surface 57 between the handle 53 and the core part 39, which comes into contact with the end surface 58 of the each time associated adapter 40, 40'.

are separated by means of a partition 59. The guide plate 60 can then, as shown in the case of the adapter 40 in fig. 13 is equipped with conductor paths 61, which provide the necessary connections between the counter contacts 43 on the outside of the adapter 40

and the connection contacts 48 arranged in the chambers 46 to 46". The opening contacts 62 indicated schematically in Fig. 13 can also be arranged, which in the case of connection are opened by means of a plug 36. It would also be possible, without it being shown in more detail here, to arrange contacts in the adapter, which are closed by means of such a plug 36. As can be seen, the conductor path 61 provides for individual connections. From the corresponding representation in Fig. 14, it is clear that the adapter 40' is equipped with wires in its interior 63, which performs a contact formation between the connection contact 48 and the recording chamber 46', as is likewise provided by the middle chamber 46' in Fig. 13. From the arrangement of the connection contacts 48, which is already apparent from Fig. 12 and 9, it appears that these chambers 46' are suitable for receiving one and the same plug 36 for a telephone device, which is also evident from the elevations of the two exemplary embodiments shown in Fig. 2 and 5. In the first exemplary embodiment, it is as shown of fig. 1 used the adapter 40', while in the second embodiment, as can be seen from fig. 4, the adapter 40 is inserted in the same socket and thereby by a single contact box 10 as shown in fig. 1 without clamping work, a three-wire contact box 10' is provided as shown in fig. 4.

Snap elements 65 can be arranged to keep these closed -ning pieces 64 in the chambers 46 to 46" of the adapters 40, 40'.

As can be seen from fig. 10, each adapter is 40 on its own

underside equipped with a bottom wall 66, which encloses the guide plate 67 downwards as the intermediate wall 59 does upwards. When connecting the adapter 40 in the direction of the movement arrow 35 in fig. 10, this will only lie with its lower part 68 in the receiving space 17 of the plinth part 11.

This is simply inserted into a plinth housing, which is placed on the front side of the wall 67 in fig. 18. Finishing on the upper side is carried out, as explained in connection with fig. 1 to 3 by means of a covering cap instead of that of fig. 1 showed cover plate 84.

Claims (19)

1. Socket connection for connecting electrical devices, preferably a telecommunications device, including a contact box (10, 10'), a plug and an adapter (40, 40') inserted between the box and the plug, which connects the plug and the contact in the contact box to each other, characterized by that the connector box (10, 10') formed in two parts with the adapter, consists of a one-piece, cup-shaped base (11) with connection contacts (33) arranged on the inside of the base and where the connection contact (33) is firmly connected with electrical wires, preferably telecommunication lines and a replaceable adapter (40, 40'), with at least part of its height (68) occupied in the interior of the socket, the adapter (40, 40'), having on its circumference (41) counter contacts (43) corresponding arranged in relation to each other and complementary arranged in relation to the connection contacts (33) in the base (11) and is provided with connection openings (46, 46', 46") for receiving plugs (36, 36', 36") for asset respective connection purposes, as the connection openings (46, 46', 46") are profiled differently and provided with different contacts (60, 61, 62, 63). 2. Socket connection according to claim 1, characterized in that the connection profile (45, 45') of the adapter (40, 40') has one or more connection openings (46, 46', 46") with mutually independent positions for the connection contacts (48) and with deviating outline surfaces (47), which each time are designed complementary to the associated plug connections (36, 36', 36") on the various devices and additional devices. 3. Socket connection according to claim 2, characterized in that the connection openings (46, 46', 46") of all the adapters have a mutually compatible basic profile (47), in particular a square profile, and that the potential connection contacts (48) are arranged in a mutually compatible basic pattern, each time at defined locations in the outline surface (47), whereby the individual adapters (40, 40') are individualized in the basic distribution pattern by a different arrangement of profile ribs (49) or profile runners in the outline surface (47) and a different crew with connection contacts (48). 4. Socket connection according to one or more of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the adapter (40, 40') between its counter contacts (48) on the peripheral side and its connection contacts (48) on the inside which determines the connection profile (45, 45' ), are equipped with type-specific conductor paths (61, 63). 5. Socket connection according to one or more of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the adapters (40, 40') at least with their insertable part (68) in the cup-shaped base (11) have a matching outline (41) and that the cup-shaped base (11) has a complementary cup inner profile, particularly in the form of a double cone. 6. Socket connection according to one or more of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the base (11) at certain edge areas (15) has through holes (16) for fastening means, such as fastening screws, for external mounting. 7. Socket connection according to claim 6, characterized in that the through-holes (16) optionally serve for the connection of building parts for a hidden assembly of the bases (11), such as spreader claws (20) and/or support flanges (19). 8. Socket connection according to one or more of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the connection contacts in the base (11) consist of strips (33) inserted in the base wall and the counter contacts (43) on the adapters (40, 40') of spring tongues. 9. Socket connection according to one or more of claims 3 to 8, characterized in that the plug connection (36) for the devices or additional devices to be connected has a gripping in the associated connection opening (46, 46', 46") on the adapter (40, 40') core part (39), in which the contacts (50) cooperating with the connection contacts (48) in the converter are inserted as strips in the core circumference. 10. Socket connection according to one or more of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that connection screws (31) for clamping moving parts to the fixed connection clamps (30) are irremovably arranged in recesses (29) in the base (11). 11. Socket connection according to one or more of claims 3 to 10, characterized in that the openings of unused connection openings (46, 46', 46") in the adapter (40, 40') can be covered by means of a closing piece (64). 12. Socket connection according to one or more of claims 1 to 11, characterized in that the plug connections (36, 36', 36") on the devices can be placed in adjacent connection openings (46, 46', 46") in the connection profile (45, 45') on the adapter side and the additional devices are designed with different heights and in the inserted state overlap each other in areas with their handle part (53, 53', 53"). 13. Socket connection according to claim 1, characterized in that the base consists of a plate (71) as conductor tracks. 14. Socket connection according to one or more of claims 1 to 13, characterized in that the adapter (80) between its counter contacts (81) on the socket side and its connection contacts (83) on the plug side comprises connected electronic components (98), such as switching contacts, counter stands, capacitors or the like. 15. Socket connection according to one or more of claims 1 to 14, characterized in that the base (71) on the visible side is equipped with a cover (84), which has an opening (87) in the middle for passage of an appliance plug (90) . 16. Socket connection according to one or more of claims 1 to 15, characterized in that the adapter (80) inserted in the socket (71) is arranged completely under cover (84) and that its connection profile (82) for the plug connection or the plug (90) of an appliance is arranged in the opening area (87) of the cover (84). 17. Socket connection according to one or more of claims 1 to 16, characterized in that the adapter (80', 80") inserted in the socket (71) only projects with its lower plug end (94) into the interior of the adapter and that its upper connection end ( 95* , 95") which have several closing parts (96, 96', 96") are arranged in front of the wall (67); 18. Socket connection according to claim 16 or 17, characterized in that the lower plug end (94) of the adapter (80, 80<*>, 80") on the one side and the base (71) on the other side have interlocking locking elements. 19.
