Abstract

Acid condensate from a high-output boiler is neutralised in a pH-neutralisation rectangular plastic vessel with an overhanging cover forming a non-airtight seal. Round outlet and inlet pipes pass through the short sides into the vessel and are perforated for better liquid distribution. The inlet is directly above the bottom, and the outlet 4 to 10 cm. higher. A filter gauze is clamped round both, to prevent choking of the perforations. The outlet is at a higher level than the permissible one in the boiler, and the vessel contains pH-neutralisation granulate, increasing the pH of condensate with an acid pH flowing over it to a pH of 6.5 or more.
