Abstract

The racket for playing tennis or similar racquet sports has a frame consisting of fibre-reinforced thermoplastic material. The frame comprises an outer U-section member with inward flanges and a U-section inner frame member with outward flanges which fit between the flanges of the outer member to form a box section. The two members are shaped to enclose an oval area, where the members are provided with openings for the strings, the end of the members being parallel and inserted in a handle. The material is pref. polyether imide and the members may be connected by adhesive or fusion.
