Abstract

The mattress comprises an inflatable chamber, preferably in polyvinyl-based material, foam edging elements e.g. in poly-ether, and an outer cover. The chamber may consist of an upper and a lower sheet with overlap edges around the sides connected by vulcanising and transversely spaced longitudinal partition ribs which are vulcanised to the two sheets and are 3-7% shorter than the length of the inflated mattress.
