Abstract

The filling valve is for a WC cistern having a valve housing fixed to the tank bottom or inside wall and containing a plug acting under the control of a float against a seat to open or shut the inlet. The plug (19) has an aperture (20) connecting the inlet (16) to a control chamber (33) downstream of the plug in the housing (34). The free surface of the plug is greater in this chamber than at the passage through the seat (32) where it is subjected to the inlet pressure. A passage in the housing connects the control chamber with the inside of the tank, and contains an auxiliary valve plug (24) actuated by the float (25).
