Abstract

The mattress is intended for reinforcing an underwater structure and comprises a layer of plastic fabric (1) to which elements (2) are secured which hold the weighting material (8). The elements consists of vehicle tyres. The tyres may have been cut in two equal halves in longitudinal direction, or the tyres have one side wall cut off. The tyre may be cut in the side wall in the area between the seating rim and the edge of the tread. The elements may be produced from used tyres.
