Abstract

The method is for testing for leakage of tubes, in which the tubes are brought under water whilst being held at a slight angle so permit the tubes to fill with water, the ends are sealed under water, and pressure applied to the interior of the tubes. An observation is then made to determine whether the pressure drops due to the presence of a leak. The method permits rapid routine testing, since the tubes fill rapidly and completely when immersed in water at a slight angle, and similarly drain rapidly when uncapped at the end of the test.
