Abstract

Feeding mechanism is used with a worm conveyor of the type having a tube with open worm, a hopper (1) whose upper end (2) can be secured to a storage vessel and which has the worm near the bottom, and means to rotate thw worm. The portion of the worm extending inside the hopper is contained in a tubular jacket (8) provided with a narrow slot (9) forming a passage for the material to be transported. The jacket may be a length of tube connected with the side wall (6) of the hopper and provided with an axial slot (9) at the side facing the storage vessel.
