Abstract

System discharges a silo filled with cattle fodder such as grass, chopped maize etc., the fodder being delivered by rakes, movable up and down, to the mouth of an outlet passage. The rakes (8) move the rodder outwards, and it is discharged through a shaft (3) on the outside wall, equipped with an adjustable intake opening. Discharge can be aided by a current of air, delivered near this opening by a blower (12). The shaft can be formed partly inside the periphery of the silo, part of its wall consisting of removable bulkheads. Compared with existing designs, the unit is less likely to become choked.
