Abstract

The lump of dough (3) extrude from pipe (1) and separated by sliding piston (2) is scraped (6) by a knife edged blade (5) bolted to a horizontal pivoted arm (8) connected by adjustable length pull rod (12) to a parallel pivoted (15) arm (14) whose other end is secured to a tension spring (17) with other end anchored (18). At an intermediate point on the lower lever is a roller follower (19) pressing on circular cam (20) which rotates about its axis (21) on synchronism with the mechanism operating the piston (2). Instead of a pivoted (9) upper arm, the cutter/scraper blade (5, 6) may be fixed to a cross arm between a pair of vertical pillars, on which bushes integral with the cross arm slide. A back stop (4) for the sharp edge (6) of the blade is fitted to the main frame. The blade (5, 6) is at least partly coated with non stick material e.g. "Teflon" (RTM).
