Abstract

Products have good thermal stability high second-order transition temps. and inherent viscosities of at least 0.3 (0.32% in 1:3 trifluoroacetic acid/methylene chloride at 25 degrees C), and may be easily extruded or moulded. They are made by heating the diol (or its ester derivative) with a dicarboxylic acid deriv., generally by the use of ester interchange and polymerisation methods.
