Abstract

The eiderdown is filled with 90 percent white high-grade down, and stitched to form square blocks, so that the down cannot shift. It contains ventilation passages round the distribution surfaces, and by which heat and moisture are rapidly dissipated to atmosphere. These however are mostly shut off when the bed is occupied, and opened up when the eiderdown in thrown off, for rapid ventilation. For a double bed, the eiderdown is stitched down the middle, to suit individual requirements.
