Abstract

The present invention relates to an in-pipe hydropower generator (100) comprising a main channel (104), a plurality of gate valves (106), a pressure meter (107), characterised by a power generation channel (105) positioned within the main channel (104) for diverting inflow liquid from said main channel (104), said power generation channel (105) having a nozzle (103) to pressurize said inflow fluid, a vertical axis turbine (101) operatively coupled to said power generation channel (105), and wherein said vertical axis turbine (101) comprising a plurality of blades (102) positioned across said power generation channel (105) and contacting with said pressurized inflow water for power generation.
