Abstract

The light emitting device comprising: a light-emitting element(14); a covering resin(19) covering the light-emitting element(14); a wavelength converting material(20) contained in the covering resin(19); and a light diffusing agent(17) contained in the covering resin(19), wherein the light diffusing agent(17) contains glass particles, a first refractive index n1 of the covering resin(19) at a peak wavelength of the light-emitting element(14) at 25 ?C is in a range of 1.48 to 1.60, a second refractive index n2 of the covering resin(19) at the peak wavelength at 100 ?C is at least 0.0075 lower than the first refractive index n1, and a third refractive index n3 of the light diffusing agent at the peak wavelength of 25 ?C is higher than the first refractive index n1.
