An H-shaped steel supporting frame (1) for joining two steel columns (6) to form a lightweight steel structure is used in a concrete casting by having a plurality of said supporting frames spaced at predetermined intervals along the length of the steel column. The H-shaped steel supporting frame comprises a pair of parallel elongate flange plates (2) and a bridging plate (3) interconnecting the flange plates along the parallel edges thereof. The bridging plate has a length less than that of the flange plates so as to define two opposing channel-shaped spaces (4, 5) at the ends of the H-shaped steel supporting frame for receiving and securing the steel columns.
