Abstract

The present invention relates a water filter cartridge comprising a shell (10) having an inlet (11) for receiving water and an outlet (12) for dispensing filtered water; filter media (20) contained in the water filter cartridge for trapping and adsorbing impurities in the water; a tubular shaft (30) affixed to the outlet (12) for receiving filtered water and directing the filtered water 10 to the outlet (12); and a filter sheet (41) disposed around the tubular shaft (30) for filtering the water; wherein the water is received from the inlet (11), dispersed through the filter media (20) and the filter sheet (41), and dispensed from the water filter cartridge via the outlet (12) without passing through another enclosure.
