Abstract
A glass melting method of the present invention uses a glass melting furnace (1) provided with a melting chamber (2) in which a refining chamber (3) is provided in a downstream molten glass flow, and includes: adjusting the temperature of the refining chamber (3) and a gas introduction rate into the refining chamber (3), so as to control an equilibrium state of the moisture concentration at the interface between an ambient gas and the surface of molten glass (23) and to adjust the moisture concentration in the molten glass (23).
