Abstract
The object of the present invention is to provide a modified cis-1,4-polybutadiene having excellent processability and low loss tangent, and a method for manufacturing the same. A method for producing a modified cis-1,4-polybutadiene according to the present invention does not require separation of cis-1,4-polybutadiene after the production thereof, and is an excellent production method which is simple and does not require complicated operations. The present invention provides a modified cis-1,4-polybutadiene which is obtained by reacting cis-1,4-polybutadiene with a specific mono- to tri-substituted aromatic compound in the presence of a Lewis acid and an organic halogen compound.
