Abstract

THIS INVENTION RELATES TO A CONNECTOR STRUCTURE FOR ACCOMMODATING ATTACHMENT ERRORS WITH A PREDETERMINED OF DEGREE OF FREEDOM WHEN THE CONNECTOR IS CONNECTED WHILE RETURNING TO AN EQUILIBRIUM POSITION WHEN THE CONNECTOR IS DISCONNECTED. THE APPROACH IS TO PROVIDED A CONNECTOR PORTION WITH A FLOATING STRUCTURE INCLUDES A HOUSING FOR THE CONNECTOR PORTION BEING SECURED ON A MOVABLE SUBSTRATE SUCHTHAT A DETACHABLE PORTION FOR CONNECTING SAID CONNECTOR PORTION TO A COMPLEMENTARY CONNECTOR PORTING BEING ADJACENT TO A WINDOW FOR INSTALLING THE CONNECTOR ON THE CRADLE HOUSING OF A FIXED SIDE WITHA CLEARANCE SUCH THAT THE CONNECTOR ON THE MOVABLE END IS FREE TO MOVE WITHIN THE RANGE OF SAID CLEARANCE CHARACTERIZED IN THAT : A RESILIENT PORTION FORMED OF A MEMBER IDENTICAL TO THAT OF AT LEAST ONE OF SAID FIXED CRADLE HOUSING AND SAID CONNECTOR PORTION AND THE CONNECTOR PORTION IS RETURNED TO AN EQUILIBRIUM POSITION BY THE RESTORING FORCE OF THE RESILIENT PORTION WHEN THE COMPLEMENTARY CONNECTRO PORTION IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE CONNECTOR PORTION.
