Abstract
AN OPTICAL LAMINATE HAVING SELECTIVE LIGHT DIFFUSING PROPERTIES CAPABLE OF PRODUCE A BRIGHTER IMAGE AT A WIDER VIEWING ANGLE THAN IN CONVENTIONAL TECHNIQUES, AND FURTHER HAVING LIGHT CONVERGING PROPERTIES IS PROVIDED.THE OPTICAL LAMINATE IS CHARACTERIZED BY COMPRISING A LIGHT DIFFUSING FILM (11) AND A LIGHT SCATTERING LAYER (12),THE LIGHT DIFFUSING FILM COMPRISING TWO PHASES WITH DIFFERENT REFRACTIVE INDEXES FOR TRANSMITTING LIGHT WITH SCATERRING, ONE PHASE WITH A LARGER REFRACTIVE INDEX INCLUDING A NUMBER OF REGIONS HAVING CYLINDRICALSTRUCTURE EXTENDING IN THE FILM THICKNESS DIRECTION, THE LIGHT SCATTERING LAYER TRANSMITTING LIGHT WITH SCATTERING. AN OPTICAL (16) FILM CAN BE PROVIDED BY LAMINATING THE LIGHT DIFFUSING FILM AND A PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE LAYER AS THE LIGHT SCATTERING LAYER.(FIGURES 3A, B).
