Abstract

Se divulgan procesos para la recuperacion de 1,3-propanediol de una corriente de alimentacion acuosa. La presente invencion involucra poner en contacto una corriente de alimentacion acuosa que comprende agua, 1,3-propanediol y por lo menos un contaminante con por lo menos un solvente para extraccion para formar una mezcla. La mezcla se separa en una primera fase y una segunda fase. La segunda fase comprende la mayoria del agua de la corriente de alimentacion acuosa. La primera fase comprende un solvente extractor y por lo menos algo del 1,3-propanediol que estaba presente en la corriente de alimentacion acuosa. La proporcion de peso en la primera fase del 1,3-propanediol con cada contaminante presente es mayor que la proporcion de peso de 1-3-propanediol con el mismo contaminante en la corriente de alimentacion acuosa antes de que la corriente de alimentacion acuosa se ponga en contacto con el solvente extractor. La primera fase puede ser removida de la segunda fase separada con el fin de recuperar el 1,3-propanediol.
