Abstract
La presente exposicion proporciona composiciones que comprenden una porcion extraida de semilla de plantago afra combinada con un aglutinante, una gente de suspension y/o un acido comestible; en particular, la presente invencion esta dirigida a composiciones que comprenden: (a) un componente polisacarido que comprende xilosa y arabinosa en donde la proporcion minima aproximada de xilosa a arabinosa es de 3:1, en peso; y (b) un componente dispersante seleccionado del grupo formado por aglutinantes, agentes de suspension, acidos comestibles, y mezclas de estos; en una modalidad preferida, las composiciones tambien comprenden un liquido acuoso, por ejemplo agua o jugo (por ejemplo, jugo de frutas o de vegetales); en esta modalidad, la presente invencion tambien se refiere a metodos para preparar un producto que comprende la mezcla de las composiciones de la presente con un liquido acuoso; las composiciones de la presente son utiles para proporcionar diversos beneficios que incluyen el tratamiento de trastornos gastrointestinales o el suministro de otros beneficios en el sistema gastrointestinal.
