Abstract
Se proveen metodos y sistemas para el suministro de contenidos de medios de transmision de flujo continuo en sistemas de suministro de video existentes; el contenido de medios de transmision de flujo continuo se puede suministrar sobre un sistema de suministro de video existente mediante la 1) la descarga de un reproductor de medios de transmision de flujo continuo a un dispositivo de usuario y el procesamiento del contenido de medios de transmision de flujo continuo para su entrega sobre la red de suministro existente para decodificar y reproducir por medio de un reproductor: y/o 2) la transcodificacion del contenido de medios de transmision de flujo continuo para reproducirlo en un dispositivo de usuario suministrar el contenido de medios de transmision de flujo continuo transcodificado sobre la red de suministro existente al dispositivo de usuario; el procesamiento del contenido de medios de transmision de flujo continuo puede comprender el encapsulamiento del contenido de medios de transmision de flujo continuo en un flujo de transporte MPEG-2 para suministro sobre la red existente; la transcodificacion del contenido de medios de transmision de flujo continuo puede comprender conversion del contenido desde un formato original a otro formato compatible con el dispositivo de usuario y/o un reproductor residente en el dispositivo de usuario, tal como un flujo de programa MPEG-2; se pueden desarrollar y ejecutar varios sistemas hibridos utilizando funciones de ambos tipos de metodos de suministro de acuerdo con la invencion.
