Abstract
Un metodo de codificacion y decodificacion de video, en donde una imagen primero se divide en subimagenes correspondientes a una o mas regiones de imagen subjetivamente importantes y a una subimagen de region de fondo, que queda despues de que las otras subimagenes son removidas de la imagen. La subimagenes se forman para conformarse a grupos permisibles predeterminados de macrobloques de codificacion de video (MBs). Los grupos permisibles de MBs pueden ser, por ejemplo, de forma rectangular. La imagen despues se divide en rebanadas de modo que cada subimagen es codificada independiente de otras subimagenes excepto por la subimagen de region de fondo, que puede ser codificada mediante el uso de otras subimagenes. Las rebanadas de la subimagen de fondo se forman en un orden de escaneo con saltos sobre los MBs que pertenecen a otra subimagen. La subimagen de fondo es unicamente decodificada si todas las posiciones y tamanos de todas las otras subimagenes pueden ser reconstruidas al decodificar la imagen.
