Abstract
El invento consta de un sistema de tensor amortiguador asimetrico para bandas en un motor. Se conecta una banda entre una polea motora sobre un cig³enal y cualquier numero de poleas impulsoras. Cada polea motora esta conectada a un accesorio como un alternador, bomba de la direccion, compresor o accesorio similar. El tensor se coloca en cualquier lugar antes del primer componente de inercia efectiva significativa, en la direccion del movimiento de la banda. Se usa una pieza deflectora en el tensor para mantener una tension en la banda. El tensor ademas incluye un mecanismo amortiguador para amortiguar las vibraciones de la banda ocasionadas por el funcionamiento del motor. La friccion amortiguadora del tensor es desigual o asimetrica, dependiendo de la direccion del movimiento del brazo del tensor. Durante la aceleracion la friccion amortiguadora del tensor en la direccion sin carga es considerablemente menor que la friccion en la direccion opuesta, o direccion de la carga, como es el caso durante la desaceleracion. Una menor friccion de amortiguamiento durante la aceleracion permite que el brazo del tensor se ajuste rapidamente al aumento del largo de la banda ocasionado por la aceleracion. Una mayor friccion de amortiguamiento durante la desaceleracion evita que los brazos del tensor se alejen demasiado en la direccion de la carga ocasionando deslizamiento y ruido. El amortiguamiento asimetrico tambien reduce en forma significativa la vibracion global en la banda durante todas las fases de la operacion.
