Abstract

The complete nucleotide sequence of each of the eight segments of the negative strand Influenza A virus strain A/Udorn/72 (H3N2) is disclosed, which provides the complete sequence of the genome in antigenomic message sense. The sequence is useful in diagnosis and may be modified by mutation to generate new influenza A variant strains.
