Abstract
Un acero inoxidable austenitico, el cual comprende, en peso, del 17 al 23% de cromo, del 19 al 23% de niquel, del 1 al 6% de molibdeno. La adicion del molibdeno a las aleaciones a base de hierro de la invencion, aumentan su resistencia a la corrosion a altas temperaturas. El acero inoxidable austenitico puede consistir esencialmente, en peso, del 17 al 23% de cromo, del 19 al 23% de niquel, del 1 al 6% de molibdeno, del 0 al 0.1% de carbono, del 0 al 1.5% de manganeso, del 0 al 0.05% de fosforo, del 0 al 0.002% de azufre, del 0 al 1.0% de silicio, del 0.15 al 0.6% de titanio, del 0.15 al 0.6% de aluminio, del 0 al 0.75% de cobre, hierro e impurezas incidentales, Los aceros inoxidables austeniticos, de acuerdo con la presente invencion, exhiben una resistencia aumentada a la corrosion procedente de sales, a un intervalo amplio de temperaturas, hasta al menos 815.5(C. Asi, el acero inoxidable de la presente invencion encontrara amplia aplicacion como, por ejemplo, componentes de automovil y, mas particularmente, como componentes del sistema de escape del automovil, y en conectores, flexibles, al igual que en otras aplicaciones en donde es conveniente la resistencia a la corrosion.
