Abstract

Se describen marcadores geneticos en el gen (MC4R) receptor de melanocortina-4 de porcino que se asocian con rasgos de calidad de carne favorables que incluyen, perdida por goteo, jaspeo, pH y color. Adicionalmente, pueden usarse datos de secuencias novedosas a partir de regiones del gen descrito en una seleccion de prueba PCR por la presencia del marcador. El marcador genetico puede usarse para seleccionar animales para propositos de cria que tengan los rasgos deseados. Tambien se describen equipos que aprovechan la prueba PCR.
