Abstract

La presente invencion proporciona una fibra de tereftalato de politrimetileno que tiene una seccion transversal modificada de tipo trilobular, constituida de 95 moles % o mas de unidades repetidas de tereftalato de trimetileno y 5 moles % o menos de otras unidades repetidas de ester para tener una viscosidad intrinseca en un intervalo de 0.7 a 1.3 (dl/g) en donde la periferia exterior de la seccion transversal de tipo trilobular consiste de secciones convexas hacia afuera o de una seccion convexa hacia afuera y secciones rectas. De acuerdo con el metodo de la invencion, es posible producir la fibra mencionada antes de la seccion transversal modificada de una manera industrialmente estable y al mismo tiempo se minimiza la adhesion o desperdicio de polimero al orificio de hilado o la contaminacion del mismo para suprimir la generacion de pelusa o de ruptura de hilo.
