Description
SANITARY TOWEL
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a sanitary napkin, preferably a disposable towel, provided with side wings, having adhesive regions that help to secure said sanitary napkin to the wearer's panties, keeping it in the correct position and avoiding the occurrence. of spills. As is known from the prior art, sanitary napkins are usually disposable and are used to collect and retain vaginal exudates, especially menstrual blood, intermenstrual secretions and even urine in the
-15 case of incontinence. Typically, said sanitary napkins are constituted by a body made of an absorbent material having a substantially flat or elongated shape enveloped by a permeable top layer which is adapted to come into contact with the wearer's body, and by a waterproof bottom layer which cooperates with the panties The permeable upper layer is adapted to come into contact with the pelvic region of the user, and thus is made of a material as accommodating and non-irritating as
possible. According to the present state of the art, this layer can be a perforated plastic film, a porous or interlaced foam, a sheet of woven or nonwoven material of natural fibers (wool or cotton fibers) or artificial fibers (polyester or polypropylene) ), or also a combination of both. The "upper layer can be made of a hydrophobic material, to have a tendency to remain dry." The lower layer, on the other hand, has the function of preventing the absorbed fluid, retained in the absorbent body, from passing to the clothes or skin. of the user, optionally being made of a thin polyethylene sheet The lower layer may be vapor permeable and, in this case, is provided, for example, with small pores, or is made of a nonwoven material impervious to liquids. said absorbent body may be made of any material capable of absorbing and retaining exudates from the body as is the case, for example, of paper, wood pulp, bamboo fibers, bagasse, corn or corn stalk, peat, foams or absorbent sponges, synthetic or polymeric fibers, superabsorbent materials (which form hydrogels when they come into contact with liquids), combinations of the above materials, etc. Nowadays, most sanitary towels They have flexible wings that extend from the sides, for example, as extensions of one or both of said upper and lower layers, and which serve to fix the sanitary napkin to the wearer's panties. For this purpose, said wings are folded around the edges of the crotch of the panties on the outer face thereof. Preferably, these wings are provided with one or more adhesive regions, in order to secure them to the panties and restrict the displacement of the sanitary napkin when in use. The adhesive regions are preferably located on the lower surface of the wing, which, for example, corresponds to an extension of the impermeable lower layer of the sanitary napkin. The upper layer of the wing is opposite said lower surface, for example, corresponding to an extension of the permeable upper layer of the sanitary napkin. The sanitary napkins of the prior art usually have one or more adhesive regions in the impermeable lower layer, notably in a central portion in the longitudinal and / or transverse direction thereof, for securing the sanitary napkin to the inner portion of the sanitary napkin portion. crotch of the user's panties. Said adhesive region may be configured as a single area or as a series of defined areas, with a tendency to apply the adhesive to said lower layer along one or more longitudinal strips, in order to facilitate the process. These adhesive regions must be protected against any contact before the sanitary napkin is used, under the risk of deteriorating the adhesion capacity of said regions, or with the risk that these regions could inadvertently adhere to each other or to inadequate points of the sanitary napkin, in which case the latter could be useless. For this purpose, protection sheets known as "release papers" are usually used, which are made, for example, of a sheet of paper coated with a non-stick resin, typically a silicone resin, facing the adhesive region, and it remains on the last until the moment in which the user will use the sanitary napkin and will deliberately remove said protection sheet, thus exposing the adhesive region.
PREVIOUS TECHNIQUE
In view of the plurality of adhesive regions that exist in many of the known sanitary napkins, a corresponding number of protection sheets is usually used, which makes the application of the sanitary napkin to the panties very difficult for the user. In particular, there is the drawback that the user has to handle a large number of protection sheets, and the adhesive regions could adhere to inadequate sites of the sanitary napkin. In addition, there is a great waste in discarding the protection sheets. Therefore, there is a need for structured sanitary napkins to minimize the number of adhesive protection sheets and to simplify their handling by the user. One of the proposed systems, which characterizes the prior art closest to the invention, is described in patent document 09116873. In this system, a first protection sheet is disposed on the adhesive regions provided on the undersurface of the wings of a sanitary towel. The wings are folded on the upper permeable layer of said sanitary napkin and held in this position by said first protection sheet, which adheres to the adhesive regions of each of the wings. In this way, when said first protection sheet is removed, the adhesive regions of the wings are exposed simultaneously, these wings being released to be folded around the edges of the crotch portion of the panties. An additional adhesive region is provided in the impermeable lower layer of the sanitary napkin, which is protected by a second protection sheet. Since the first protection sheet is quickly accessible to the user when placing the sanitary napkin on the panties, the user first frequently removes said first protection sheet, which keeps the wings folded and protects the adhesive regions. In this case, the adhesive regions will be prematurely exposed, and could inadvertently adhere to inadequate points of the sanitary napkin itself, thus impairing the adhesion capacity of the adhesive regions, or also rendering the sanitary napkin itself useless. Furthermore, the system adopted in the prior art requires not only the manufacture of two different types of protection sheet, since the adhesive regions of the wings and the lower layer of the sanitary napkin have different sizes, but also the inclusion of a manufacturing step in which protection sheets are applied to opposite faces of the sanitary napkin, which makes its manufacture too expensive.
OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION
The object of the present invention is to propose a sanitary napkin having side wings, with adhesive regions not only on these wings, but also on the respective impermeable lower layer, on which the respective protection sheets are placed to protect all these adhesive regions . In addition, the disposition proposed by this invention allows to expose first the adhesive region of the impermeable lower layer, at the moment in which the user prepares the sanitary towel to fix it on the panties. Said adhesive region of the lower layer is then applied immediately to the inner part of the crotch portion of the panties. Meanwhile, the adhesive regions of the wings remain protected, avoiding loss of adhesive capacity and adherence to inadequate points. The respective protection sheets are only removed from the adhesive regions when the user is about to attach the wings to the inner crotch portion of the panties. This objective is achieved with a sanitary napkin which comprises a liquid-permeable upper layer, a liquid-impermeable lower layer provided with at least one adhesive region, an absorbent body disposed between said upper and lower layers, a pair of wings that is extend from the sides and are provided individually with so
.15 minus an adhesive region, characterized in that the wings are folded over the lower layer, and because at least one sheet
| of protection is located between the adhesive region of each wing and the adhesive region of the lower layer, simultaneously protecting said adhesive regions, before the use of the

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
As illustrated in Figures 1 to 6, the sanitary napkin 1 comprises a substantially flat and elongated body of absorbent material 2, surrounded by a permeable upper layer 10 adapted to come into contact with the wearer's body, and a waterproof lower layer 11. that cooperates with the respective panties. The sanitary napkin 1 further comprises flexible wings 3 extending from the sides as extensions of the upper 10 and lower 11 layers. The lower surfaces of these wings 3 have respective adhesive regions 6, which allow them to be fixed to the outer face of the crotch portion of the panties. The sanitary napkin 1 is provided with an adhesive region 7 in at least a central portion of the longitudinal and / or transverse direction of said lower layer 11, for fixing the inner face of the crotch portion of the panties. As illustrated in FIG. 1, the proposed sanitary napkin 1 is now made with its wings 3 over the respective impermeable lower layer 11. In addition, a pair of protective sheets 15, preferably elongated and scattered from side to side in the longitudinal direction, each sheet 15 being, before use of the sanitary napkin 1, between the lower layer 11 and one of the wings 3. In this way, an individual protection sheet 15 simultaneously protects the adhesive regions 6 and 7, respectively one of the wings 3 and of the lower layer 11. '.5 A protection sheet 15 is provided to protect the adhesive region 6 of each wing 3, each of the sheets 15 protecting a middle lateral portion of the adhesive region 7. According to a preferred embodiment of this invention, the protective sheets 15 are made of paper (or other similar material) covered with anti-adhesive substances (for example: silicone or other resin), to provide partial adhesion with regions 6 and 7, so that the latter can preserve their capacity to join. Optionally, and in view of the difference in
.15 longitudinal dimension which, as a rule, exists between the wings 3 and the adhesive region 7, it is not essential that the sheets of
\) Protection 15 must be covered with anti-adhesive substances on the full extension of both sides. In the embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 and 2, only the portions
longitudinally central of the faces of the protective sheets 15 facing towards the wings 3, are covered with anti-adhesive substances. The protection sheets 15 may be single-ply or multi-ply sheets, that is, constructed from one or
more layers of material, preferably paper. For example, to facilitate its manufacture, a protection sheet can be constituted by a main strip of unresigned paper, and have additional strips of paper adhered to the opposite surfaces of the first, whose outer face is resinated. The protection sheets 15 may have variable shapes, and are preferably rectangular. They may also have small auxiliary wings, for example, along their perimeter to facilitate their removal. They can be identical or different, preferably being the same. The protection sheets 15 can have variable dimensions. With respect to length, for example, they can have the same longitudinal extension as the stretch of the wings under which they are located, the same longitudinal extension of the sanitary napkin, or they can also be larger than the longitudinal extension of the sanitary napkin . Preferably, they have approximately the same longitudinal extension as the sanitary napkin. Preferably, the sum of their widths will be approximately equal to the width of the sanitary napkin. The protection sheets can be two or more, and can be joined together, before use, in a separable manner, for example by perforated lines that allow them to be removed individually. The protective sheets 15 preferably cover the entire adhesive region of the lower layer of the sanitary napkin of the invention. In this way, it may be the case that they are laterally separated from each other, since the adhesive region of the lower layer of the sanitary napkin is distributed in the form of two longitudinal strips equally spaced from each other. In an alternative embodiment, the distance between two protection sheets preferably ranges from 1 to 15 mm. The protection sheets 15 can also be optionally overlapped, for example, along a longitudinal center line. In figures 1 to 6, the different steps of a sequence of use of the sanitary napkin of the invention can be observed. Figure 1 shows the product before use. First, as shown in Figure 2, the wings 3 open, thus exposing the adhesive region 7 of the lower layer of the sanitary napkin. Then, the product adheres on the inner side of the panties 20, fixing the adhesive regions 7 thereon, as shown in Figure 3. Afterwards, the protective sheets 15 are removed, preferably by their ends 16, as shown in FIG. shows in Figure 4, thus exposing the adhesive regions 6 of the wings 3, according to Figure 5. Finally, the adhesive regions 6 are adhered by folding the wings 3 on the outside face of the crotch region of the panties 20. Thus, the present invention provides a sanitary napkin 1, whose handling is simplified, and whose adhesive regions 6 and 7 are less likely to adhere inadvertently.
It should be noted that the above description refers only to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the scope of which is defined exclusively by the accompanying drawings, the possible equivalents being included herein.
