Description

MODULAR CONSTRUCTION THAT HAS A STEEL TRANSPORT CONTAINER NUCLEUS DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION It is known to convert steel transport containers that have been removed from service to habitable constructions. Such an arrangement is presented in U.S. Patent 4,854,094 dated August 8, 1989. Although the construction presented in the aforementioned patent is satisfactory for its purposes, it has certain disadvantages, in that it is not prefabricated but is built in the place of construction, which increases the cost of construction. The constructions are also provided with pointed roofs, which increases the cost of construction, also, the spacers used to convert the interior sky and the side walls to the internal surface of the container, does not use the corrugated configuration of the container or container steel, thus reducing the internal dimension of the construction. In addition, fasteners or connectors extend through pre-drilled holes, to secure the outer and inner cover to the corrugated walls, giving a challenge to the insulating integrity of the construction. To overcome these disadvantages with the constructions having steel cores of transport containers, the modular construction of the present invention has been realized.
The construction of the present invention essentially comprises a steel transport container having corrugated side walls, and a roof having transversely extending reinforcement protrusions. Vertically extending wooden strips are adhered within the groove portions of the corrugated walls to provide supports where the internal insulation can be fixed. An outer cover resistant to the top, is fixed in the portions - vertex, of the corrugated side walls, and an inner wall cover is fixed to the insulation layer. Wood strips that extend transversely, are placed with and are fixed to the protuberances of the roof to provide supports to fix a layer of sky insulation, where the roof of the sky is fixed. The exterior roof of the container is provided with a plastic roof hood to adapt to the configuration of the container or container roof. Adequate windows and a prefabricated door are provided in the openings cut in the walls of the container and the interior is provided with support walls to divide the floor space into several rooms, such as bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, etc. The construction of the present invention is prefabricated and then transported to the construction site, during the fabrication of the construction, the double steel doors of the container remain open to facilitate the interior completion of the construction including the plumbing fittings, after of which the doors are welded to form an end wall of the construction that is provided with an interior and exterior finish. By prefabricating the construction of the invention, an interior and exterior construction is provided. Placing wooden wall strips in the groove parts of the side walls and in the roof protuberances does not compromise the interior dimensions of the construction, and by not using mechanical fasteners for the interior and exterior walls in the corrugated walls, no the insulating integrity of the construction is put at risk. From the foregoing description, it will be apparent to the technicians that the modular construction according to the invention, which has a steel core of transport container, is relatively inexpensive, and that when placing the wooden strips 2, in the inner grooves of the corrugated side walls it, and the transverse wooden strips 6, in the protrusions of ceiling lg, the interior dimensions of the construction are not compromised, and when adhering the insulation layers 4 and 8, to the strips 2 and 6, and the outer cover 3, to the vertices 3a, which face outwards from the side walls corrugated, the use of mechanical fasteners is avoided, thereby maintaining the insulating integrity of the construction. Claims (10)
