Abstract

The Postural Correction Chair for Cerebral Palsy, Sicppac, allows the transfer of children from 9 to 14 years old, with some type of movement disability and also helps the positioning of children with CP. Sicppac has accessories that allow the child to continue with their postural correction therapy while they remain there. The contributions in these attachments are: 1. Header variable height, keeps the user's head upright and stable according to the trunk and column. 2. Ventilated backrest to reduce perspiration in times of prolonged use. 3. Abductor cushion, modulates the position of the user according to the type of injury or deformation and maintains the position of the legs parallel to the body. 4. Folding mechanism that allows to acquire a dimension that facilitates its introduction into the trunk of compact cars. That is why Sicppac provides a means of rehabilitation for children with PC, by stabilizing their position and transfer, and integrate it into their space and daily activity. Solving the problem presented by the current market of not having chairs that meet their needs

Description

POSTURAL CORRECTION CHAIR FOR PARA CEREBRAL "SICPPAC" BACKGROUND In people with cerebral palsy (CP) it is necessary to understand the reflex activity that impedes their mobilization, due to this we need to know the interaction that occurs between each one of the tonic reflexes, since among them they synergize and make difficult the dissociation of the different body segments that a child with PC presents.
As for the mechanical aids and aids that are used to perform the different movements, we must differentiate which are those that facilitate movement, the dissociation of the body segments and those that stabilize the different positions, as well as those that prevent them, so that in this way we can use them and / or discard them. The current mechanical aids (wheelchair) are not suitable for children with PC, having to be conditioned by the therapists in an improvised way with what they have at their disposal.
What is proposed is a unit not only for transfer, but also for positioning for children with PC, which gives the adequate support for the placement of any type of abduction accessory and maintains the essential maneuverability and easy transport characteristics.
DESCRIPTION The proposed mechanical system or aid, illustrated in Figure 1, is a postural correction chair that has various attachments that keep the child with a PC comfortable and comfortable. The chair has a wraparound headboard of adjustable height (1) made of high density polyurethane foam, which positions the head to keep it upright and stable according to the trunk and column of its body, held through its arch. commercial steel to the backrest (2), which has ventilation areas to avoid as much as possible the perspiration in times of prolonged use and is made of plastic fabric neoprene of 1/8 thickness fastened through rivets. Does the unit also have a safety belt (3)? made in 2"wide nylon strap with safety clasp with opening lock system, all of commercial quality, for the user's fixation and that together with an abductor cushion (4) that modulates the user's position ( according to the type of injury or deformation) maintains the position of the legs parallel to the body, with the advantage of being able to alternate the coin, abductor, which helps correct injuries such as kyphosis or lordosis, with the placement of a seat for injuries such as scoliosis, both are thermoformed in high density polyurethane foam, covered with plastic neoprene fabric with sailboat tape applications for attachment to the structure seat (7), giving the best comfort and safety to the user. So there is also a footrest (5) height adjustable user size, designed in aluminum, and resting handlebars (6) for the support of the forearms, the latter made of sponge coated with plasticized neoprene fabric.
The advantage of the Sic HC chair is that it has a rigid structure (7) in seat and backrest, which gives a total useful dimension of 400x400 mm and 380x510 mm respectively, which gives the necessary amplitude for the accommodation of any attachment of abduction thus giving the greatest support and comfort. Likewise its capacity of folded facilitates his transfer to distance, since this acquires a size of folded (640 x 751 x 400 mm) able to be admitted by any compartment of load of compact automobiles. The whole unit has a total weight of approximately 30 kg., With a maximum load capacity of 120 kg. All this is supported by four wheels; two of them considered as load wheels (9) of 400 mm in diameter, made of solid rubber and fitted with a rotation locking system (ß). The other two are considered as driving wheels (13) with a diameter of 200 mm and have rotation and free movement and are made of solid rubber and iron support.
Next, the folding sequence is described, which allows the Sic paC chair to be carried to its minimum transport dimension.
I. While the chair is standing, figure 2, the chair is secured, placing the brake (8) of the rear wheels (9). II. Position yourself behind the chair and pull the armrests (6) upwards, now allowing the front (10) and rear (11) supports to rotate on their axis to a horizontal position, so that the chair can now rest on the chair. floor, then fold the armrests (6), figures 2 and 3 into the chair. III. Fold the seat (12) over the area of the backrest, maintaining the alignment of the front support (10), finally fold the rear supports (11) upwards and through the safety belt (3) wrap the structure thus formed to maintain the compact and safe unit for transportation, figures 4 and 5.
SIcp HC, is a product designed in consideration of the need for the "individualization" of accessories since this product is aimed at an unusual market but with great needs and market potential.

Claims (2)

CLAIMS Having sufficiently described my invention, I consider it a novelty and therefore claim as my exclusive property, what is contained in the following clauses:
1. Postural correction chair for cerebral palsy, with armrests, footrest, castors and guide wheels, characterized by consisting of an adjustable height surround head, inserted into a ventilated backrest that in turn supports a seat on its base. Abduction cushions are created individually according to the needs of the user.
2. Chair for postural correction for cerebral palsy, which is characterized because as claimed in the previous clause, has a folding mechanism, which works by placing the brake on the rear wheels, and pull up the armrest, allowing that the front and rear supports rotate on their axis to acquire a horizontal position on the floor; folding the armrests into the chair, fold the seat over the backrest area, maintaining the alignment of the front support, to fold the rear supports upwards and through the seatbelt the structure is wrapped, to keep the unit compact and Safe for transport.
