Abstract

Los metodos de la presente invencion usan sangre de mujeres embarazadas y amplificacion de celulas fetales para facilitar el diagnostico prenatal sin invadir el espacio fetal. Este metodo es menos invasor y mas simple que la amniocentesis o el muestreo de vellosidad corionica porque solamente involucra extraer sangre de la madre para obtener una muestra de celulas fetales. Si se esta buscando una enfermedad especifica con mutaciones moleculares conocidas, las celulas de la muestra son una fuente de DNA enriquecido para el material fetal. Si la enfermedad involucra a los globulos rojos sanguineos, este metodo proporciona globulos rojos sanguineos fetales para su analisis. Si la enfermedad involucra globulos blancos sanguineos, se pueden usar distintas citocinas para producir selectivamente leucocitos fetales. Si se esta buscando un patron de cromosomas anormales sin un riesgo especifico de diagnostico (por ejemplo, por edad avanzada de la madre), entonces el metodo de cultivo proporciona celulas en division de origen fetal.
