Abstract
Se describe un nuevo proceso para el reciclamiento de poliésteres. De acuerdo con este proceso, pedazería de poliéster desechado por el consumidor es hecho reaccionar con glicol para producir un monomero u oligomero de bajo peso molecular mediante la depolimerizacion del poliéster. El monomero u oligomero, segun sea el caso, es posteriormente purificado utilizando una o más de un numero de etapas que incluyen la filtracion, cristalizacion y, opcionalmente, un tratamiento absorbente o de evaporacion. El monomero u oligomero así producido es particularmente apropiado como materia prima para la produccion de poliéster de base ácido oéster, de material de poliéster grado empaque. Debido a que el proceso incluye etapas de purificacion, las especificaciones para el material de poliéster previamente utilizado no necesitan ser estrictas.
