Abstract
Un conducto de luz acrílico tiene una estabilidad termal y fototermal para muchos propositos, pero es deficiente al mantener la claridad, color y buenas propiedades opticas bajo condiciones de exposicion a temperaturas altas, especialmente en combinacion con la exposicion durante periodos largos al paso de luz. La estabilidad termal mejorada, como se refleja en la formacion de color reducida, puede impartirse ajustando las condiciones de polimerizacion para producir el polímero de nucleo no curado de la construccion de nucleo/revestimiento con un contenido de vinilo terminal muy reducido, de preferencia por debajo de 0.5 grupos de vinilo/1000 unidades de monomero. Esta mejora de proceso, en combinacion con la adicion seleccionada de una combinacion de ciertos fenoles impedidos y fosfitos orgánicos hidrolíticamente estables, produce una mejora substancial en la resistencia a la decoloracion bajo condiciones fototermales, mientras se mantiene la resistencia a la decoloracion bajo condiciones termales. Las condiciones del proceso conocido, que no producen un contenido vinilo terminal más bajo, en combinacion con los aditivos seleccionados, también producen conductos acrílicos de luz con una estabilidad fototermal mucho muy mejorada.
