Abstract
La invencion provee compuestos que contienen ácido hidroxámico que son utiles como inhibidores de metaloproteasa de matriz y que son efectivos para tratar condiciones asociadas con la actividad en exceso de estas enzimas; en particular, la presente invencion se refiere a un compuesto que tiene una estructura de conformidad con la formula I, en donde: (A) R1, R2, R3, R4 y R5 son independientemente seleccionados a partir de varios substituyentes; y (B) en donde R3 y R4 o R4 y R5 juntos pueden comprender una porcion cíclica; o una sal farmacéuticamente aceptable, amida biohidrolizable o éster biohidrolizable del mismo; en otros aspectos, la invencion está dirigida a composiciones farmacéuticas que contienen los compuestos de la formula (I), y a métodos para tratar enfermedades caracterizadas por la actividad de metaloproteasa de matriz usando estos compuestos o las composiciones farmacéuticas que las contienen.
