Abstract

La presente invencion está dirigida a un proceso para obtener simultáneamente monoxido de carbono puro e hidrogeno puro en una planta convertidora de vapor para la generacion de hidrogeno o amoniaco, que tiene un convertidor primario, un convertidor secundario y corriente abajo de los mismos, una etapa de conversion de CO. Una corriente de gas parcial de al corriente de gas de síntesis, la cual es descargada del convertidor secundario que tiene un contenido de CO de entre 2 y 20% mol y está a una temperatura de 200 a 500 degree C y a una presion entre 15 y 50 barias, es retirado entre el convertidor secundario y la etapa de conversion de CO. La corriente de gas parcial es luego enfriada a una temperatura por debajo de 100 degree C, con lo cual se condensa la mayor parte del vapor contenido en la corriente gaseosa.
