Abstract
Un aparato para la medicion durante la perforacion incluye un acelerador de neutrones de 14 Mev, un detector de neutrones cercano que detecta primariamente neutrones de fuente y cuya salida es proporcional a la energía de salida, uno o varios detectores de neutrones epitérmicas a distancia intermedia excéntricos contra la pared del collar de perforacion y que responden primariamente a la concentracion de hidrogeno en la formacion, y un tercer detector de radiacion alejado, ya sea de rayos gamma o de neutrones, que responde primariamente a la densidad de la formacion. Las salidas de los detectores intermedios y alejados, normalizados por las salidas del detector cercano, se combinan para proporcionar mediciones de la porosidad, densidad y litología y para detectar gas. Un detector de neutrones térmicos y/o un detector de rayos gamma puede también proporcionarse a distancias intermedias para ofrecer informacion adicional de interés como por ejemplo mediciones de separacion y análisis espectral de la composicion de la formacion.
