Abstract
Se proporciona un método para producir ruedas de esmeril las cuales muestran mejor prevencion o reduccion de quemadura, más bajo consumo de potencia y mayor penetracion de fluido de metalistería en la zona de esmerilado en operaciones de esmerilado de alta velocidad de remocion de metal como por ejemplo esmerilado de alimentacion lenta. El método comprende los pasos de preparar una mezcla, prensar en frío la mezcla de un molde a la forma, tamaño y densidad deseados para formar un artículo moldeado en frío, remover el artículo moldeado en frío del molde y quemar el artículo moldeado en frío para producir el artículo abrasivo aglutinado vítreo en donde la mezcla comprende granos abrasivos de oxido de aluminio, partículas solidas no metálicas, inorgánicas, conductoras térmicamente que tiene mayor conductividad térmica que los granos abrasivos y un tamaño de partícula de al menos de veces el de los granos abrasivos, un precursor de matriz vítrea el cual forma una matriz vítrea que tiene una union con las partículas solidas conductoras térmicamente que es más débil que la union con los granos abrasivos y un inductor solido de poro orgánico, formador de celda abierta, que produce deformacion residual del artículo moldeado en frío (es decir el moldeado en verde) que es por lo menos igual al tamaño de partícula más pequeño del rango de tamaño del inductor de poro del artículo.
