Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método y a un aparato para producirmateriales reproductores de imágenes, especialmente placas para impresiónde periódicos, o pruebas o galeradas, que tienen una imagenpredeterminada. Un material fototermográfico que tiene una base poliméricaque soporta cuando menos una capa fotosensible, capaz de ser reveladamediante calor, se expone a una radiación a una primera longitud de ondamodulada, de acuerdo con la imagen predeterminada para producir una imagenlatente que represente la imagen predeterminada, en el materialfototermográfico. La capa fotosensible contiene un colorante antihalo enuna cantidad mayor que 0.02 por ciento en peso. El colorante antihalo esactivo a la radiación en la primera longitud de onda y es transparente ala radiación en una segunda longitud de onda. El material fototermográficose calienta para revelar la imagen latente en el materialfototermográfico. Con la radiación en una segunda longitud de onda,utilizando al material fototermográfico como una máscara, se forma unaimagen en el material reproductor de imágenes.
