Abstract
En la presente se describe un dispositivo médico implantable que incluye un cuerpo que tiene uno o más transductores ultrasónicos configurados para recibir ondas ultrasónicas y convertir energía de las ondas ultrasónicas en una energía eléctrica, dos o más electrodos en comunicación eléctrica con el transductor ultrasónico y un broche unido al cuerpo que está configurado para rodear por lo menos parcialmente un nervio y/o un tejido filamentoso y colocar los dos o más electrodos en comunicación eléctrica con el nervio; en ciertos ejemplos, el dispositivo médico implantable incluye dos transductores ultrasónicos con ejes de polarización ortogonales; también se describe en la presente los métodos para tratar incontinencia en un sujeto al convertir energía de las ondas ultrasónicas en una energía eléctrica que alimenta el dispositivo médico totalmente implantado, y estimular eléctricamente un nervio tibial, un nervio pudendo o un nervio sacro, o una rama de los mismos, utilizando el dispositivo médico completamente implantado.
