Abstract

Un proceso y un sistema de reacción para la preparación de metanol. El proceso comprende los pasos de (a) proporcionar un gas de síntesis de metanol reciente que contiene hidrógeno, monóxido de carbono y dióxido de carbono; (b) introducir y hacer reaccionar la corriente de gas de síntesis de metanol reciente en una primera unidad de reacción de metanol en presencia de un catalizador de metanol y obtener una primera corriente de efluente que contiene metanol y gas de síntesis no convertido; (c) proporcionar una corriente de gas de reciclaje que contiene el gas de síntesis de metanol no convertido que está contenido en la primera corriente de efluente y gas de síntesis de metanol no convertido de una segunda unidad de reacción de metanol; (d) introducir y hacer reaccionar la corriente de gas de reciclaje en la segunda unidad de reacción de metanol en presencia de un catalizador de metanol; (e) retirar una segunda corriente de efluente que contiene metanol y el gas de síntesis de metanol no convertido de la segunda unidad de reacción de metanol; (f) combinar la primera y una parte de la segunda corriente de efluente; (g) enfriar y separar el efluente combinado en una corriente líquida que contiene metanol y la corriente de reciclaje; y (h) retirar de la parte restante de la segunda corriente de efluente una corriente de gas de purga, en donde la parte restante de la segunda corriente de efluente es retirada como una corriente de gas de purga antes de combinar la primera y la segunda corrientes de efluente.
