Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para preparar borato de éter metílico de oligoetilenglicol que comprende las etapas de: a) alimentar ácido bórico y éter monometílico de oligoetilenglicol en un reactor (10) y hacer reaccionar la mezcla resultante para obtener un producto crudo que comprende borato de éter metílico de oligoetilenglicol, agua y ácido bórico sin reaccionar y éter monometílico de oligoetilenglicol; b) alimentar el producto crudo a un dispositivo de destilación reactiva (30) y hacer reaccionar ácido bórico con éter monometílico de oligoetilenglicol hasta la conversión completa de ácido bórico; c) transferir una corriente de destilado que contiene agua desde la parte superior del dispositivo de destilación reactiva (30) a un condensador (34) y reciclar una corriente de líquido condensado a la parte superior del dispositivo de destilación reactiva (30); y d) extraer una corriente de producto de fondo que contiene borato de éter metílico de oligoetilenglicol del dispositivo de destilación reactiva (30), transferir parte de la corriente de producto de fondo a un rehervidor (33) y reciclar la corriente de vapor resultante a la sección inferior del dispositivo de destilación reactiva (30).
