Abstract

Se describen aquí métodos, sistemas y aparatos para separar componentes de una muestra; así como métodos de uso de composiciones preparadas por los mismos. En un aspecto, el aparato puede comprender un cuerpo tubular para recibir la muestra, un material tixotrópico, y un flotador. El sistema que comprende el aparato puede estar configurado para separar el componente de la muestra mediante centrifugación. EI flotador puede tener una gravedad específica menor o igual a la gravedad específica del material tixotrópico. El material tixotrópico puede colocarse a lo largo de una superficie interior inferior del cuerpo tubular, y una parte del flotador puede estar incrustada en el material tixotrópico. Ei flotador puede estar hecho de una pieza única e integral o de una pluralidad de piezas que están configuradas para estar fijas e inmóviles unas respecto a otras durante la centrifugación.
