Abstract
Se divulga un proceso para la recuperación de metales valiosos a partir de minerales oxídicos, en particular, a partir de nódulos polimetálicos. El proceso es adecuado para la recuperación de Cu, Co, Ni, Fe y Mn, que son los principales metales de interés en dichos nódulos polimetálicos. El presente proceso, entre otros, se carácteriza por el manejo de Fe, que se disuelve y se mantiene en solución hasta la etapa de cristalización en lugar de eliminarse en una etapa anterior. Se obtiene un residuo mixto de Mn-Fe, que, después del tratamiento térmico, proporciona un óxido de Mn-Fe adecuado para la industria del acero o del manganeso. Se obtienen excelentes rendimientos de Cu, Co y Ni, mientras que el Fe se lixivia y valoriza junto con Mn.
