Abstract

Una aleacion de titanio # metaestable "modificada" que, aparte del contenido de carbono, corresponde al rango de composicion para la aleacion de titanio Beta C estandar. La aleación modificada comprende vanadio, cromo, molibdeno, circonio, aluminio, con un maximo de oxigeno, hierro, nitrogeno, hidrogeno, itrio y otros elementos (aparte del carbono y titanio) con un equilibrio (aparte del carbono) de titanio. La aleacion modificada tiene carbono presente a un nivel de carbono total estable suficientemente superior a 0.05 % en peso lo que logra una mejora en las propiedades mecanicas de UTS, DSS y resistencia a la fatiga en las regiones roscadas, relativo a la aleación Beta-C estandar con un nivel de carbono menor a 0.05 % en peso, con un contenido de carbono maximo controlado para evitar la formacion carburos que tienen un efecto perjudicial en el nivel de la resistencia a la fatiga.
