Abstract

The switching elements keep track of the status of the auxiliary and switch states based on trigger conditions, such as environmental conditions, drill gun conditions, or surface input conditions. A self-sensing method is also described to detect faults in a drill gun and to act on the fault without the need to pull the gun chain assembly out of the hole.
