Abstract

La invención se relaciona con un proceso y sus plantas relacionadas para la calcinación de un concentrado de sulfuro con contenido de oro. Las partículas de concentrado con un contenido de carbón mayor que 0,5 % por peso se alimentan a un horno de calcinación, donde se someten a tratamiento térmico a una temperatura en el rango de 500 y 1000 °C en un lecho fluidizado para así obtener un calcinado, y donde al menos partes del calcinado se extraen del horno de calcinación junto con una corriente de gas como una fracción sólida. Las partículas de concentrado de un diámetro al menos 50 % menor que el diámetro promedio de las partículas de concentrado se separan como partículas pequeñas, y/o las partículas de la fracción gaseosa-sólida se separan en al menos un paso como partículas pequeñas de calcinado. Las partículas pequeñas y/o al menos parte de las partículas pequeñas de calcinado se peletizan, por lo que al menos 80 % de los pelets tiene un diámetro de al menos 80 % del diámetro promedio de las partículas de concentrado, y los peletes se alimentan al horno de calcinación (figura 1).
